Straman convertible registry Hello to all you Straman convertible owners out there? We have discovered that Straman etched serial numbers on most of the cars converted in the '80s. That includes the 300ZX, CR-X and Firebirds & Camaros and others. I am wondering if this was the case for the Ferrari cars as well. I have created a Straman registry database with all cars I learn about in that registry and I want to add the cars of the members of FerrariLife or cars that members find for sale. So far, I have about 45 cars in the registry. I have been building it for many years. I have found that many of the 80s era cars have a stamping on the convertible top frame that had a sequencing number. It is a small number (size of a fingernail) that is located close to your head when seated in the driver's seat, on the metal rail above the driver's door window. So far, numbers have all read "ST1xxx". It would be great to know if the Ferarri cars also have this stamping, and what it says and where it is. I am also tracking the build date from the silver straman sticker in the door jamb for the registry. Please reply to this thread the following information (cut and paste to your reply), or email it directly to me at kcdesoto1 (at) hotmail.com Ferrari Model: Model Year: Ferrari Build date: Straman conversion date: (from silver sticker in drivers door jamb) Etched ST1xxx number: (if they exist on your cars?) Car Color: Interior Color: Top Color: Transmission: Your name or FerarriLife 'handle': The car's city & state: Of course, photos or links to photos of the car would be nice. And....if you do not own one but have documentation of other cars not owned by members, please join in! If you know someone with a Straman convertible, please let them know about this thread or have them email me. I will post an update to this thread when I get several of your replies. Thanks!! Yep. This is a bit dissappointing. I have been getting great response from all other Straman conversions. As owners see this, I am sure to get responses. No worries, I have been working on this for several years and will continue. |

I've got one for sale. Red 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spyder. I'll have a look to see if the top has any markings where you say it may. http://www.spiritedauto.com/offering...aytona-spyder/ -Robert |
